The main research areas at the Department of Statistics are econometrics (microeconometrics and time series econometrics), multivariate statistics and structural equation modelling.
The open PhD positions are
- 1-2 general positions
- 1 position in multivariate statistics
Starting date: 1st of September 2017 or as agreed upon.
The duties of a PhD student are primarily directed at his/her own research education, which lasts four years. The work may also involve, to a limited extent (maximum 20%) other departmental duties, mainly related to teaching undergraduate courses – in which case the position may be extended to maximum five years.
For admission to the PhD program in Statistics, an applicant must have basic eligibility and the special eligibility prescribed by the Faculty. Information about eligibility requirements and admission rules can be found on the web site of the University, Admissions Ordinance and Regulations regarding Studies at the Graduate Level.
Applications should include a brief description of research interests and relevant experience, a CV, copies of diplomas and certificates, thesis (or a draft thereof if available) and other documents that the applicant wishes to be considered.
