At the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences, Centre for Research Ethics & Bioethics The Centre for Research Ethics & Bioethics (CRB) is a multi-disciplinary research centre with 27 members of staff. Our research concerns, among other topics, research ethics, clinical ethics, ethics of care, neuroethics and neurophilosphy, and ethical, legal and social aspects of genomics, biobank- and registry research. We are part of several international research collaborations and actively involved in research communication.
You will primarily work with research communication in the SIENNA project (Stakeholder-Informed Ethics for New technologies with high socio-ecoNomic and human rights impAct www.sienna-project.eu), a European research project with 13 partners from Europe, America, Africa and Asia starting October 1, 2017. The project is focused on three technology areas: Genomics, human enhancement and human-machine interaction. The work includes both operational and strategic aspects. You will participate in the development of communication plans, write for web and newsletters, develop communication materials (video, presentations and printed materials), and support researchers in everything from poster production to drafting press releases, evaluating and reporting the project’s communication efforts. You will support our team with workshop logistics, report writing and co-ordination of our research in SIENNA.
You will be part of a small communications team in an international multi-disciplinary environment. Although the working language at CRB and in SIENNA is English, you will also be required to produce text in Swedish. Project meetings and contact with researchers in SIENNA will mostly be via video or phone. Emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
You will also have the opportunity to work with other CRB communications. Among other things developing the centre website (www.crb.uu.se), our newsletter on ethical and legal aspects of biobank and registry research and our blogs (www.etikbloggen.crb.uu.se and www.ethicsblog.crb.uu.se).
Relevant university degree and experience with communications work. You are a good writer in both Swedish and English and used to adapting text for different audiences and channels. Experience with image, layout and video, preferably in Adobe programmes.
Experience with InfoGlue or other content management systems for web are considered a merit. We are looking for a creative person with the ability to see the bigger picture and adapt communications based on objective and audience. Ideally, you should enjoy operational work, and have aptitude for both analytical and strategic thinking.

Pay: Individual salary
Starting: 2017-11-01 or as otherwise agreed.
Type of employment: Permanent employment given access to continued funding (SIENNA ends in March 2021). Probationary period (6 months) applies.
Working hours: 80 % with the possibility of extending.
