The Department of Ecology and Genetics is an international environment with staff and students from all over the world. Project description: This project is about causes and consequences of algal blooms of Gonyostomum semen in lakes. These topics will be addressed by laboratory and field experiments as well as processing of data from public data bases. The project is a collaboration with Lund University and parts of the studies may therefore be conducted in Lund.
Duties: PhD studies in Limnology, practical aspects as well as theoretical aspects.
Qualifications required: To be eligible for a PhD-student position the applicant must hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Limnology or a related subject. Great emphasis will be placed on personal ability such as motivation, dedication, creativity, curiosity and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are important qualities. Candidates must have good ability in spoken as well as written English and Swedish.
Qualifications desired: Experience of experimental work with limnic microorganisms is a merit.
Position: The graduate program covers four years of full-time study. The position can be combined with teaching or other duties at the department (maximum 20%), which prolongs the employment with the corresponding time. The salary will be set according to local agreements.
