The Department of Education (EDU) conducts research, offers several third-cycle (doctoral) study programs and first and second levels (bachelor, master) programs within the subjects of curriculum studies, education, and sociology of education. EDU also has extensive educational involvement in programs such as the Teaching program and the Human Resource program. In addition, there are several Master Programs available at EDU. EDU have more than 200 employees of which approximately 140 are teachers/researchers, 40 are doctoral students and 20 are administrators. Working tasks: The work tasks are directed and supervised by Associate Professor Mikael Palme. They comprise transcriptions, literature searches, language checks, as well as carrying through various quantitative analyses using SPSS, SPAD (Geometrical Data Analysis) as well as software for bibliometric analysis.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in a discipline in social sciences or related disciplinary areas; documented skills in SPSS and SPAD; familiarity with research traditions in social sciences, especially sociology and sociology of education; previous experience in handling and using large data sets; good knowledge of English, and preferably an additional major language such as French or Spanish. Personal qualities: collaborative skills; nicety.
