The Department of Pharmacy offers a stimulating multidisciplinary working environment in research and teaching within the Pharmaceutical disciplines. We are looking for an administrative assistant to join a biomedical research group at the Department of Pharmacy. The research group’s leader is seeking a part time assistant for circa 80% employment. The research group is currently expanding, leading to a daily need for administrative support.
Work description: As an assistant to the professor you will carry out administrative work and support the professor in his daily activities. Job responsibilities are varied and can include such things as calendar planning, archiving and organizing of documents, helping with administrative preparations for teaching, as well as booking, planning and preparing documents for travel undertaken by the professor. Additionally, there will be daily responsibilities such as managing and sorting incoming email and calendar appointments for the day. Occasionally you will also assist with international visitors to the department.
Qualifications: Fluency in English is necessary as the group has many international members and the role frequently deals with international guests and collaborators. It is also necessary that you have previous administrative work experience. For example managing calendars, drafting documents, answering phones, sorting emails and working with financial matters. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Outlook Exchange are required for the position.
As our research group is a collaborative working environment and includes 30+ members emphasis will be placed on interpersonal skills. The role also involves dealing with enquiries from current and prospective students and therefore previous experience in a public facing role would be beneficial.
