Uppsala University organises a range of activities for our international guests. Below, you can read about the programme that has been planned for the spring 2017.

WELCOME RECEPTION

Museum Gustavianum

The University Management cordially invites you to a Welcome Reception for newly arrived international researchers, lecturers, doctoral students and their partners.

Programme:

  • Welcome, followed by dinner buffet
  • Guided tour of the museum

INTRODUCTION SEMINAR

The International Faculty and Staff Services invites you to an introduction seminar for newly arrived international researchers, lecturers, doctoral students and administrative staff. The aim of the seminar is to provide you with useful information about Uppsala University, working conditions and benefits and to give insights into different aspects of life in Sweden.

Information meeting with fika

This event is primarliy aimed for spouses of newly arrived international researchers, lecturers, doctoral students and administrative staff.

Do you have questions about living in Sweden? Do you want to meet other internationals in the same situation? The aim of this meeting is to provide you with useful information and to give insights into different aspects of life in Sweden. Amongst all, we will talk about migration, housing, the health care system and social activities. And of course, there will be fika! For those of you not yet accustomed to the Swedish “fika”, it is a short break when you have coffee or tea, and sometimes also a cinnamon bun or snack.

recruitment workshop - "Personality assessment in selection"

Junior Faculty organizes recruitment workshop - "Personality assessment in selection" Wednesday 10 May 2017 

Recruiting PhD students, postdocs and other personnel in an efficient way is a crucial but difficult task for group leaders. Join this lecture and workshop to find out more about the recruitment process, including common pitfalls and how to avoid them. The lecture and workshop, including sandwich and coffee, are free of charge and will be held by Merro Awad from KanZen Consulting. The entire event will be in English.

Application including pre-workshop assignment must be submitted no later than Friday 28 April. In the case of more applicants than places available, priority will be given to junior group leaders/PIs and participants will be further selected based on the information provided in the application form.

nature hike in the foot-steps of Linnaeus

Families for international friendship invites you to join a nature hike in the foot-steps of Linnaeus. 

The hike will take about two and a half hours.

There is no cost and you don´t have to register for this activity.
