About the course

The course initially involves an introduction to Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs) and related projects in accordance with their main advantages and disadvantages. It will then provide for a decomposition analysis of RETs into a number of sustainability criteria and will describe the need for an integrated assessment of competing projects. Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis methods will be introduced as an appropriate operational tool in renewable energy planning and their relevance will be highlighted in the context of wind power.
