About the course:

What is typical of religion in Sweden? This course gives a historic overview of the first centuries of Christianity in Sweden, the Lutheran hegemony, revival movements, and immigrant religions. It focuses on religious change in Sweden during the last decades. Migration has led to religious diversity in Sweden. Majority Christianity has changed and religion is less important to people, but spirituality is on the rise. In this course we will discuss explanations of these changes.
