Learning outcomes

After completion of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Describe the current research front in physical geography and hydrology, based on a review of recent scientific literature.
  • Critically analyse the conclusions of recent scientific publications in physical geography and hydrology
  • Summarise the findings of scientific publications by applying the scientific process and critical thinking


The course addresses current and important research in physical geography and hydrology through literature studies and seminars. Some of the research is reviewed by the entire class, while some is reviewed by smaller groups based on the students’ specialisation. Documentation of scientific results. Scientific publication and peer review. Issues with plagiarism.




Participation in seminars (2 credits) and the written and oral presentation of liturature studies (3 credits).
