Uppsala University is an international university in all senses of the term. Uppsala University has agreements for student exchange with approximately 500 foreign universities in 50 countries.
Exchange studies involve studying one or two semesters (at the most) at another university. The courses you take on exchange may be credited towards your degree at your home university. You can not study exchange at any university, rather, there must be a formal agreement between your home university and the exchange university. These agreements may be individual agreements between two universities, (so called "bilateral agreements") or they may be part of a larger "exchange program", for example ERASMUS, TEMPUS, NORDPLUS, ALFA and Linnaeus-Palme etc. Uppsala University has a wide range of agreements, in differrent exchange programs, with univerrsities all over the world.
The International Office is able to help with a range of questions about exchange, both from students at Uppsala University, and students from another university wishing to come to Uppsala. You should note that many of Uppsala University's exchange agreements are "departmental agreements", and these are administrated by the departments themselves, and not the International Office! In this case it is best to contact the relevant department directly.
