Ten Uppsala University subjects ranked top 100

Uppsala University is a broad university with world-leading research at all nine faculties. This is reflected in the recently published QS World University Rankings by Subject 2015. In 24 out of 36 subjects, Uppsala University is among the top 200.
When QS World University Rankings published their overall ranking for 2014/2015, Uppsala University was once again listed as one of the world’s best universities, ranked 81. Now, QS World University Rankings have also published a ranking of individual subject areas at the world’s universities.
The 36 different subjects have been ranked based on three parameters:
- Academic reputation
- Employer reputation
- Research impact – citations per employee/researcher
In 24 of the 36 subject areas, Uppsala University was ranked among the top 200, and for 10 subjects Uppsala University was among the top 100: linguistics, medicine, pharmacy & pharmacology, biological sciences, development studies, environmental studies, chemistry, materials science, politics & international studies and sociology.
Uppsala University’s highest-ranking subjects are pharmacy & pharmacology (ranked 25), development studies (ranked 31) and biological sciences (ranked 47).
