The PEACE project offers scholarships for nationals of Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama and Uruguay to study or do research at one of our European partner universities.

In the second call for scholarships, which opened on October 20th and closed on February 20th, the following types of scholarships were available:

  • Bachelor exchanges (1-2 semesters) - open only for students from our Latin American partners
  • Master exchanges (1-2 semesters) - open to all students from the nine partner countries
  • Master degrees (1-2 years) - open to all students from the nine partner countries
  • PhD exchanges (6-10 months) - open to all phd´s from the nine partner countries
  • Post-doc exchanges (6 months) - open to all nationals of the nine partner countries
  • Staff exchanges (1 month) (only for staff members at our Latin American partners).

The scholarships are open to all academic fields (except music, arts and language studies). There is no age limit to apply. 

The scholarships include the following:
 

Monthly stipend
1000 € (bachelor/master), 1500 € (PhD´s), 1800 € (post-docs), 2500 € staff.

Travel to and from Europe

Comprehensive health insurance

Costs related to the scholarship
residence permit (visa), transport to and from airport etc.

Tuition fees
PEACE grantees do not pay any tuition fees at the EU host university.

What are the requirements for the scholarships?

The requirements differ on the different academic levels and between the EU-universities. You can find out more about each EU-university by checking out the information about each EU university. If you have any specific questions it is recommended that you get in contact with the representative from each university.

Some rules apply to all scholarships:

  • You cannot have gotten an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 scholarship on the same level previously (staff excluded)
  • You cannot have lived in the EU for more than 12 months during the last 5 years (minorities and indigenous groups are excluded from this rule).

Some specific rules only applies to certain academic levels.

Bachelor exchange students

  • You have to have completed at least 1 year of studies at your home university
  • You must be enrolled in a bachelor program at your home university

Master exchange students

  • You must be enrolled in a master program at your home university

Master degree students

  • You must have completed your bachelor degree before the start of the mobility

PhD exchange students

  • You must be enrolled in a PhD – program
