In association with Åsa Grauman’s Half-time Seminar (31st January 9.15-11) we have a visit of two distinguished international scholars who are experts in Patient Preference Research and in Risk Perceptions and Communication. We therefore invite you to the following lectures:

Liesbeth Claassen: Linking percpetions of disease risk to risk communication

Brett Hauber: Including patient preferences in medical decision making - state of the art

Liesbeth Claassen is senior researcher in Risk perception & Communication at the Amsterdam Public Health Research Institute and the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. Her research focuses on the perception and communication of health risks and uncertainties surrounding emerging and societal and controversial risk issues. She is especially interested in how people perceive and respond to uncertain but personally relevant health information.

Brett Hauber is a Senior Economist and Vice President of Health Preference Assessment at RTI Health Solutions and Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. He has more than 20 years of academic, research, and government experience in health and environmental economics. His primary area of specialization is in conducting conjoint analyses and discrete-choice experiments to quantify preferences for medical interventions and health outcomes.
