Digital technology constantly pushes the boundaries for the ways in which we can access historical and cultural heritage material. But the development also raises new demands on infrastructures, collaborations and data handling. This seminar will discuss these topics from various angles through two 30 min lectures.
Presentation 1: Daniel Löwenborg, “Different levels of FAIRifying Swedish archaeology data: Geodata considerations within the SweDigArch infrastructure”
Presentation 2: William Illsley, “Open Data and its Use in the Historic Environment and the Humanities – Critical Perspectives”
Daniel Löwenborg is senior lecturer and researcher in archaeology and GIS at the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History, Uppsala University.
William Gothlin Illsley works with humanities and heritage data as a research data advisor at the Swedish National Dataservice. He has a background in historic environment record management in England, and has recently defended his PhD thesis in digital heritage.
