WELCOME to the 8th Annual Conference of the NORDIC NETWORK GENDER, BODY, HEALTH at the Centre for Gender Research, Uppsala University, November 18–19, and to the pre-conference workshop for PhD candidates at Tema Genus, Linköping University, November 17, 2014!

Keynote speakers:

- ASTRIDA NEIMANIS, feminist body and gender scholar from Canada, teacher at the University of Toronto and GExcel Scholar affiliated with the Posthumanities Hub at Tema Genus (Gender Studies unit), Linköping University (LiU), Sweden, with a series of feminist environmental humanities publications such as We Are All Bodies of Water (2009), and Thinking with Water (2013).

- SERPIL OPPERMAN, Professor in English at Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey), focus on feminist eco-critiques at the margins. Publications include Feminist Eco-Criticism: Making a Difference (2013, with Greta Gaard and Simon Estok), and the edited volume New International Voices in Ecocriticism, due 2015. Prof. Dr Opperman is Vice-president of European Association for the Study of Literature, Culture and the Environment.

- KATHY HIGH, visual media artist, independent media arts curator and interdisciplinary media arts teacher working on technoscience, speculative fiction and art with queer and feminist questions to medicine/bioscience, ecologies and animal/interspecies collaborations. High is also a Professor of Video and New media in the Department of Arts, Rensselaer Polytechnic Insitute in Troy, NY.
