Den 9e november är det queerseminarium med Centrums forskare Ann-Sofie Lönngren som pratar under titeln The queer potential of inter-species intimacy.
Description: Since the latter part of the 19th century there has been a steady increase of pets in Sweden, a development which mirrors the rest of Europe and also other parts of the world. In which way can the increased importance of the pet/owner-relationship threaten and subvert the heterosexual norm? In this seminar, this and related questions are discussed by Ann-Sofie Lönngren, associate professor in literature and researcher at the Centre for Gender Research at Uppsala university, and author of the recently published book Following the Animal: Power, Agency, and Human-Animal Transformations in Modern, Northern-European Literature.
