New staff at the Centre for Gender Research
This semester we're welcoming three new members of staff at the Centre!
Oscar von Seth, postdoctoral fellow
Oscar's research interests are at the intersection of literature, cinema, and queer theories. His current postdoc project, “Queer Waiting in Literature and Film” (funded by the Swedish Research Council), poses the question if waiting, a universal human activity and an unavoidable aspect of life, can be understood as a queer cultural phenomenon.
Katarina Pirak Sikku, artist
With the visual art project "Bortom tankehimlens mentala sorgerand – studier av mental egenmakt" (funded by the Swedish Research Council), Katarina Pirak Sikku seeks to portray the grief that she, as a Sami person, can experience today as a consequence of colonialisation, assimilation policies and the appropriation of Sami lands.
Jasmine Arcilla, PhD student
Jasmine is a PhD student at the Centre for Gender Research and SWEDESD, an interdisciplinary centre for research on sustainability and health. She has a background as a public health practitioner in the Philippines. Jasmine's research project focuses on understanding women’s health and the gendered intersections it has with various disciplines such as agriculture, animal health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH), and environmental health.
