Renewal of negotiated rent setting - A path to a sustainable housing market?

Through an interdisciplinary approach involving economics, statistics and political science this project investigates a crucial issue in terms of social sustainability in Swedish housing: development of the Swedish rent-setting system. More specifically, the project focuses on local negotiations on rent-setting and methods for estimating residents' valuations of various housing attributes that influence rents. A key objective of the project is identification of future scenarios and opportunities that can support development of rent-setting policies and procedures. The project is implemented in collaboration with representatives from Allmännyttan, Fastighetsägarna Sverige and Hyresgästföreningen.
