Pelle progress report

We are receiving many questions about the status of UPPMAX new clusters, Pelle and Maja.

The hardware was physically delivered over the summer and into September, after which the vendor performed configurations and did some testing.

UPPMAX staff got their hands on the system in mid-October, and are now performing acceptance tests. Thus far, a series of minor deviations have impeded quick progress.

Overall, the system is considerably delayed. This means that we will continue running Bianca into 2025, until Maja is ready. It is also very likely that we will continue running Rackham for local users into 2025, until Pelle is up and running as it should.
