Opening of the exhibition Stitched Voices
The Hugo Valentin Centre organizes “Stitched Voices,” an exhibition of textile arts about political violence and resistance. The exhibition is co-organized with Fredens Hus, Conflict Textiles, the Conflict and Method research node, and Aberystwyth University.

The exhibition centres on textile narratives of struggles against violence, injustice, oppression and forgetting, originating from Chile, Mexico, Northern Ireland, South Africa, Catalonia, Colombia and Germany. The core of the exhibition consists of textiles from the international Conflict Textiles collection.
Housed in Fredens Hus, Uppsala Slott, Stitched Voices will kick off with an opening on the 29th of August 2018 (18:00) and will run until the 21 April 2019 (Wednesdays-Fridays: 15:00-18:00. Saturdays and Sundays: 12:00-16:00). The opening event will include a presentation by Roberta Bacic from Conflict Textiles.
