EIT Health Business Creation Weekend

Researchers, students and professionals: Join us 27-29 October 2017 in Uppsala to build your competences and skills, your future dream-team, and your business – while getting full support by an international group of coaches and experts from different industries

Start Friday with building a coalition around your idea or join a team that is going to work on something important for you. Saturday and Sunday you will attend lectures and workshops, perform market research and train in pitching your ideas. Sunday evening your team will do a final pitch for a panel of expert entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and potential investors.

4.30–5.30 PM Start VentureLab Weekend: welcome speech

  • Objectives and logistics of the VLW
  • Meet fellow students, inventory teams' ideas and expertise

5.30–6.30 PM Lab 1

  • What is a Business Model Canvas?
  • Basic pitch structure
  • Setting up criteria for team member selection and joining a team

6.30–7 PM Join a team

  • Team leaders give abbreviated team recruitment pitch
7–8 PM Dinner
  • Recruits meet with potential teams during dinner
8–8.30 PM Lab 2
  • Introduction to Finance (costs/revenues)

8.30–10 PM Pitch 1

  • Trying a first group pitch & idea refinement

10–11 PM Drinks and networking

8–9 AM Breakfast

9–10 AM Lab 4

  • Customer discovery in Health sector

10–11 AM Pitch 2

11 AM–1 PM Working with coaches

1–2 PM Lunch with coaches

2–5 PM Customer Discovery Exercise

10 AM–2 PM Pitch 4

  • Teams individually present canvas to expert panel for 15-20 min
  • One team member videos your session in their phone
  • Order is alphabetic
  • Teams work on the business model with coaches when not before the panel

1–2 PM Lunch

2–4 PM Finalize canvas (Submit final canvas at 4 PM sharp)

4 PM–6 PM Final preparations

  • Prepare and practice pitch
  • Judges visit each team individually for canvas discussion
  • Light dinner

6–8 PM Competition

  • Final pitches
  • Awards

8–10 PM Celebration and networking
