Olle Johansson – Sweden’s first known student

Sweden’s first known student was Olle Johansson. He was from Gotland and studied at Uppsala University. He registered at the University in 1477 and studied theology and general philosophy.

He left behind a historical treasure in the shape of five years’ lecture notes.

Olle Johansson’s lecture notes have been preserved and are exhibited at Museum Gustavianum in Uppsala – not so different from modern day lecture notes.
