Conservation is one of three disciplines at the Department of Art History and its operation is located at Campus Gotland in the World Heritage Site Visby. Conservation is a trans-disciplinary discipline where humanities meet sciences and social sciences.
Duties: The researcher with a focus on economic indicators of spill-over effects on adaptive re-use, will be part of the Horizon 2020 project CLIC - Circular models Leveraging Investments in Cultural heritage adaptive reuse. The overarching goal of the CLIC trans-disciplinary research project is to identify evaluation tools to test, implement, validate and share innovative "circular" financing, business and governance models for systemic adaptive reuse of cultural heritage and landscape, demonstrating the economic, social, environmental convenience, in terms of long lasting economic, cultural and environmental wealth. The researcher’s duties consist mainly of developing methods and tools for the assessment of the spill-over effects of cultural heritage adaptive reuse on local economy.
The project is financed for three years, 2018-2020, and the place of employment is at Campus Gotland in Visby, Sweden.
Eligibility requirements: To be eligible for employment as researcher one has completed a doctorate within a relevant subject area for the tasks and have the personal capabilities required to carry out the duties of the position well.
In assessing the applicant’s academic skills, emphasis will be placed primarily on the quality of her/his research. The scope of research, primarily with respect to its depth and breadth, will also be given due weight. Furthermore, weight will be accorded to the ability to plan, initiate, lead and develop research as well as the demonstrated capacity to cooperate with other researchers and with the community at large. Equal care will be taken in the appraisal of pedagogical and scholarly qualifications and good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
Eligibility requirements - additional skills: Experience from EU research projects is a prerequisite for the position. Administrative and managerial competences are important for this position and will be assessed accordingly. Administrative competence involves the demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in an efficient and goal-oriented manner and in the capacity to set and respect time frames. Qualifications include overarching operational planning and the ability to manage resources in a manner that reflects the employer’s priorities as well as the capacity to work in an organized way with a view to objectives and quality.
