One postdoc position is available from the 1st of January 2017 in Jens Carlsson’s group in the computational biology and bioinformatics programme. Jens Carlsson’s research focuses on development of methods for structure-based drug discovery and application of these techniques to discover ligands of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), often in close collaboration with experimental groups and the pharmaceutical industry. The Carlsson lab is a cross-disciplinary and international research team that is also part of the Science for Life Laboratory (http://www.scilifelab.se). Visit the group web page for more information (www.carlssonlab.org).
Job description We are seeking a highly motivated researcher who will work on modeling of GPCRs with the aim to identify ligands of therapeutic targets.
Qualifications The applicant must hold a PhD degree within a relevant research area and should have expertise in structure-based modeling of protein-ligand complexes. Experience in programming and modeling of GPCRs is preferred, but not required. Good English language skills and the ability to work in a team are required. Personal suitability will receive special attention in the selection process.
The application should include
- A short letter with a description of your research interests and how you could contribute to the project.
