The aim of the Forum is to support and facilitate research on South Asia within the Humanities and Social Sciences at Uppsala University. It does so by sponsoring conferences, lectures and other special events pertaining to South Asia, by offering limited financial support for travel by researchers, and by publicizing scholarship and teaching at Uppsala University that pertains to South Asia.
- Attends board meetings and executes the directions of the Board for the day-to-day operations of the Forum.
- Takes primary responsibility for logistics of organizing conferences and lectures, including arranging travel for speakers, reserving space, organizing food and drink, and overseeing publicity.
- Keeps abreast of research on South Asia at Uppsala University, especially in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Oversees website and Facebook page, and takes primary responsibility for the profile of the organization on social media.
- Assures smooth integration between the board and the financial officer of the organization.
Eligbility: Excellent English speaking and writing skills; experience with website development and maintenance; public relations experience including with social media; some experience of graphic design or related skills; basic financial managements skills; experience with conference organization; sensitivity to issues to do with South Asia; ability to carry out the directives of a board; and good people skills. College or University degree from an accredited institution in Sweden or abroad.

Pay: Individual salary.
Starting: As agreed.
