The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and statistics. The number of employees is 120, including 30 PhD students. The Department has three research programs: analysis and probability, algebra and geometry, applied mathematics and statistics.
Duties: Conduct research in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics. Teaching and administration can be included, no more than 20 percent.
Requirements: PhD degree in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics. The PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application deadline. The three year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.
Documented ability to excellent research in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics. The applicant´s research should harmonize well with the department´s ongoing research projects http://math.uu.se/research/.
Ability to teach in Swedish or English is a requirement as well as proficiency in spoken and written English.
