The employment as amanuens comprises 10 percent of full time for six months as soon as possible with the possibility of extension, not longer than the year out.
At the Department of ABM, education is conducted at an advanced level within the master's program in ABM (archival science, library and information science and museum and cultural heritage), the master's program in Digital Humanities, the Digital Humanities Uppsala research network, and education at doctoral level in library and information science. The department currently has about ten teachers and researchers as well as six doctoral students.
Duties/Project description: The main work content for this amanuens is to perform administrative tasks, i.e. assist the manager and coordinator at DH Uppsala in work including:
- filming and streaming of lectures
- other administration regarding DH Uppsala’s web data list and social media presence.
- general administrational support during events (workshops etc)
Requirements: For employment as a teaching assistant, it is a requirement that you are admitted as a student at undergraduate or advanced level.
For employment, you must be an active student at Uppsala University. Good knowledge of Swedish is required. Since the work involves daily contacts with researchers and administrative staff, it is important that the amanuens works within the work team. The position requires good initiative, a great sense of responsibility and a willingness and ability to collaborate with several different staff groups.
Conditions: Employment as amanuens is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 5. Only those who are admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level may be employed as amanuens (HF Chapter 5, Section 10).
