Research engineer

Duties/project description: We are currently looking for a research engineer candidates to work in Assoc. Professor Johan Ledin research group. The aim of the project is CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing to decipher the role different genes in zebrafish embryonic development. Project will involve CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis, phenotypical evaluation of mutant zebrafish lines, advanced imaging imaging, optical tomography and method development. Work will include research support, development of standard operation procedures (SOPs) and contribution to publishing scientific articles. 

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in molecular or developmental biology or related field.
  • Previous experience in working with zebrafish model
  • Good knowledge of the molecular biology methods
  • Excellent skills in oral and written English  

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a group are required. An ability of initiative and a structured approach as well as problem solving skills are important for this position. As a person, you will be expected to be efficient, accurate, and eager to perform your research tasks.

Additional qualifications:

  • Courses in Laboratory Animal Science, Fish and Swedish Legislation, Ethics and Animal Use and 3R or equivalent
  • Previous experience in working with CRISPR/Cas9 technology

Salary: Individual salary.

Starting date: 01-05-2021 or as otherwise agreed.

Type of employment: Temporary employment.

Scope of employment: 100 %.
