The Department of Game Design is part of the Faculty of History and Philosophy at Uppsala University. Its teaching and research alike are highly advanced. The Department has some 400 full-time students, roughly half of whom are from outside Sweden, and about 40 employees in various job categories. It offers teaching in game design and development at basic and advanced level, with graphics, project management and programming as subsidiary options. All education takes place in English.

Duties
The position of assistant includes teaching-related and administrative duties associated with the game design study programmes. More specifically, they involve answering the students’ queries, assisting in practical course modules, and helping to process student assignments.  Administrative tasks include, but are not limited to, receiving and passing on students’ questions, as well as assisting with evaluations and other administration work.

Requirements
For employment as a teaching assistant, it is a requirement that you are admitted as a student at undergraduate or advanced level. You, are studying on any of the game design programmes at Uppsala University, Campus Gotland, at either of the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level. You should have a good knowledge of the structure and educational aims of the game design programmes. You are good at taking initiative and cooperating with others. You must be capable of independently carrying out and completing your duties within specified time limits. Familiarity with using computers and good language skills in English, both spoken and written, are important. Heavy emphasis will be laid on personal suitability.

Additional qualifications
Experience of more software and knowledge of software such as Unity, Game Maker is merit.

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 5 § 12. Scope of employment 10-20%. Starting date 22 August 2022 or as agreed until 4 June 2023. Placement: Visby
