Duties
The position involves teaching, including course coordination, development and administrative work. The teaching is carried out within the study programmes in game design and freestanding courses, on campus and at a distance. The development work relates primarily to joining in efforts to develop the Bachelor programmes in game design further. The appointee must, moreover, be prepared to take part in the Department’s internal work and to undertake assignments as programme coordinator, director of studies or equivalent. Duties also include monitoring, first, development in appointee’s own subject area and, second, overall social trends with a bearing on work at the University.
Active participation in the Department’s work requires regular presence at the workplace.
Requirements
Eligibility requirements. The minimum requirements for the apointment are a Bachelor degree; solid knowledge and experience of game design and/or game development; academic teacher training of at least ten weeks’ duration, or corresponding knowledge, and demonstrated teaching expertise; and in general the ability necessary to perform the duties of the appointment well. If special reasons apply, the appointee may attend the academic teacher training during the year of employment. Ability to teach in English is a requirement.
Assessment criteria
The criteria are documented experience of teaching and administrative work in the area of game design or game development; experience of personal work in game design and/or activity in the game-design industry; thoroughness; skill in cooperating with others; experience of a project-oriented, preferably agile way of working; and good self-expression in spoken and written English. Particular emphasis will be laid on teaching expertise, which means that an applicant who is a more accomplished teacher will take precedence over one with greater research expertise.
