What is an Excellent Teacher?
The term Excellent Teacher is to be used for teachers who have attained a higher level of teaching expertise. Academic teaching competence, personal engagement, and skills shall have an express meritorious value for teachers at Uppsala University.
What are the evaluation criteria?
The criteria for expertise in teaching defined in the University’s rules and regulations serve as the basis for appointment as Excellent Teacher. Each domain or faculty board has specified requirements for appointment. The requirements and guidelines shall serve as an incentive för teaching and learning improvement efforts and stimulate both individual teacher and departmental engagement in such development work.
Who evaluates applications for promotion to Excellent Teacher?
Evaluation of applications is performed by a special workgroup assembled by each of the domain/faculty boards.
Only teachers at Uppsala University employed for an indefinite term (lecturers, senior lecturers and professors) are eligible for admittance as Excellent Teachers.
