Prizes and distinctions

Each year Uppsala University confers a number of prizes, distinctions, and medals to individuals whose academic or other pursuits have promoted research, education, or the development of Uppsala University or society in general. One of these is Hjärnäpplet, which goes to a researcher or doctoral student whose collaboration with an external organisation has resulted in an outstanding innovation.

Another important award is the title of honorary doctor, which is awarded to people who have made outstanding scientific contributions or otherwise promoted research.
