* Bachelor's Programme in Information Systems, specialisation software engineering, 180 credits
Entry requirements
30 credits in information systems including 7.5 credits in programming.
Learning outcomes
Regarding knowledge and understanding the student is expected to be able to on completion of the course:
- describe methods, tools, and framework to develop mobile applications.
Regarding competence and skills the student is expected to be able to on completion of the course:
- design and develop a mobile application in Android
- use of external API when implementing a mobile application in Android
- document and justify choices during design and development of a mobile application.
Regarding judgement and approach the student is expected to be able to on completion of the course:
- evaluate a mobile application bades on design and functionality,
- discuss how the use of mobile applications can influence an individual, organisation, and society,
- discuss the use of mobile applications in relation to social sustainability.
Content
The course cover analysis, design, and development of mobile solutions. The course introduces methods, tools, and frameworks to develop mobile solutions and applications. The course also deals with and emphasizes the importance of to be able to justify choices made when implementing a mobile application. During the course a mobile application in Android based on Java will be implemented.
Mobile solutions spread more and more which influence individuals, organisations and the society and the course deals with change both from a technical and social sciences perspective, where mobility and usage of mobile applications are problematised. The course also deals with the usage of mobile application in relation to social sustainability.
Instruction
The course is given in the form of lectures, seminars and laboratory work.
Assessment
The course is examined through seminars and assignments.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator or a decision by the department's working group for study matters.
