About the course

This course is recommended for students with no or little previous knowledge about European ecosystems. It gives insights in ecosystem structure and function in boreal ecosystems (terrestrial and aquatic), as well as practical field methods for community analysis in these ecosystems. Furthermore, the course gives a good opportunity to compare with the nature in the student's own part of the world. In particular, we draw attention to comparisons with the vegetation in climatically and geologically similar parts of northeast Asia.
