About the course
The focus of this course is on understanding the role of biodiversity for ecosystems, and on which factors in ecosystems that are of importance for biodiversity. The ecosystems discussed are primarily aquatic, but other natural and constructed ecosystems are also included. Examples of study systems span over entire ecosystems from microorganisms to fish. There are also sections dealing with scientific publication, good scientific practice and research ethics. The students apply the scientific method by designing, planning, conducting and evaluating an experiment of their own.
