About the course

Electronics is at the heart of a vast array of products from simple light switches to complex systems such as the power grids to distribute electricity. A basic understanding of the fundamentals building blocks of analog and digital circuit, of how they operate and of how they are designed and modelled is therefore necessary for all engineers, scientists and technologists. In addition, the recent developments in home automation (domotics) and simple programmable single- board computers such as the Raspberry Pi and the Arduino has brought advanced electronics devices within reach of everyone that has mastered basic electronics concepts.

This course will give you the tools to understand the fundamental concepts of both analog and digital electronic circuits, their components and their functioning. You will learn how to apply the course theoretical content to practical real-world examples and to everyday situations. This will be achieved via simulations that will allow you to design and analyse simple circuits and to transform them into real printed board circuits that you can use in real life. This course will give you the skills necessary to successfully master future life-long learning in all areas of electronics.
