About the course

How do you build magnets that do not use electricity? - You use permanent magnets.

The course discusses the special properties of permanent magnet material, computational methods for construction of dipole, quadrupole and undulator magnets as well as methods to measure magnetic fields.

The course is mainly intended for engineers working with magnets and physicists using magnets for their experiments.
