A forum for discussion is available. To participate in the course you will need a computer with internet connection and Flash.

Entry requirements: Wind Power Basics 7.5 credits, Energy and Environment 7.5 credits, Wind Power Planning and Permission 7.5 credits or Energy Production and Usage 10 credits.

About the course

The course initially involves an introduction to Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs) and related projects in accordance to their main advantages and disadvantages. It will then provide for a decomposition analysis of RETs into a number of sustainability criteria and will describe the need for an integrated assessment of competing projects. Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis methods will be introduced as an appropriate operational tool in renewable energy planning and their relevance will be highlighted in the context of wind power.
