About the course:
Basic concepts: general overview of the use of biomaterials and relevant biological aspects cells and tissues, the use of stem cells in regenerative medicine, the body's response to implanted material e.g. temporary vs. permanent implants, biodegradable materials, cell substrates, tailored tissue bioactive materials and drug-delivery systems interaction between proteins and surfaces, interaction between human tissue and biomaterial: properties of natural tissues and transplantation techniques biomimetic systems, sterilisation, evaluation methods for medical products.
