About the course
Statistical thermodynamics is the link between molecular models and the properties of different materials. The emphasis will be on models and theories for liquids, liquid mixtures and electrolytes. To test both the theories and the models, the most important methods in molecular simulations will also be discussed in some detail: molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations. The course will convey the limitations of both simulation methods and discuss some modern computational tools.
