Entry requirements: 120 credits with 30 credits in chemistry. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.

Please note: The course schedule is adjusted so that the course Biosensors can be taken at the same time. Nanobiotechnology is focused in the beginning of the period and Biosensors in the end of the period, with some overlap.

About the course

Nanostructured materials with application and potential in biotechnology. Biological templates for inorganic structures. Surface physics and biomaterials. Characterisation and derivatisation of surfaces and other supporting phases. Interaction between biomolecules and surfaces. Applications in bioseparation, diagnostics, drug delivery and bioimplants. Lipid/polymer based nanoparticles. Molecular imprints. Inorganic replicas of soft biological materials. Enzyme reactors based on nanostructured materials.
