About the course

Advanced visual interfaces go beyond the limits of flat 2D computer displays and conventional 2D interaction metaphors. Some examples for advanced visual interfaces are stereoscopic 3D environments, spatial projection displays, or augmented reality based on hand-held or head-mounted displays. The course presents a taxonomy of advanced visual interfaces and provides the fundamentals of the involved display and interaction technology. As part of the course we will deepen methods for spatially calibrated 3D and projective displays.
