Entry requirements: 120 credits with (1) 90 credits in earth science and 15 credits in chemistry, or (2) 90 credits in physics and 30 credits in earth science, or (3) 90 credits in geology. 5 credits from an methods coursework, such as Analytical methods in earth science or Exploration and Environmental geophysics. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.

About the course
The course presents mineralogy at an advanced level regarding including crystal-chemical structure and physical properties of different mineralogical groups. Magmatic and metamorphic petrology in a plate-tectonic perspective, volcanology. Exercises in petrographic microscopy.
