About the course

The course provides you with the knowledge required for the study of higher courses in scientific computing and computational science. The course assists in bridging the gap for students that have no or just a little prior knowledge in scientific computing and the level needed in the Master Programme in Computational Science. The course can be combined with Scientific Computing III (either in parallel with or after this course).

The course covers important parts of Scientific Computing I and II, such as solution methods for linear systems, ordinary differential equations and Monte Carlo methods. MATLAB is used throughout the course and programming in MATLAB is an important part of the course.
