Entry requirements: A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university, including at least 90 credits in the social sciences or a comparable field and an independent project of at least 15 credits. Proficiency in English equivalent to the general entry requirements for first-cycle (Bachelor's level) studies.

About the course

The course aims to introduce theories and perspectives for analysing the role of digital media and information technologies play in contemporary mediatised societies. Key concepts and debates on mediatisation, social media and digital information technologies are introduced. The course focuses particularly on media and cultures interconnectedness and discusses economic, political and cultural aspects of the society that is emerging in the wake of a changing media and communication landscape.
