Classes are given on Campus Gotland during week 24 (Monday 13 June - Friday 17 June) and week 34 (Wednesday 24 August - Friday 26 August). Additional weeks are intended for individual studies part-time and can be done elsewhere.

About the course

Truffles have been surrounded by myths throughout history, but the science of this fungal life form is even more intriguing. This course will give you a background to the evolution, species richness, chemistry and function of truffles, explaining their use, growth and cultivation. We visit a natural truffle habitat and a truffle orchard on the island of Gotland and learn to identify some of the economically important species.
