About the course
Truffles have been surrounded by myths throughout history, but the science of this fungal life form is even more intriguing. This course will give you a background to the evolution, species richness, chemistry and function of truffles, explaining their use, growth and cultivation. We visit a natural truffle habitat and a truffle orchard on the island of Gotland and learn to identify some of the economically important species.
