About the course:
Sustainable development as a wicked issue requires radical changes in how we teach and learn, as well as how we work together and relate to each other. This course presents different approaches to sustainability education and learning, and takes a pluralistic and process-oriented approach to sustainable development as a wicked issue. You will have the opportunity to critically engage with contemporary discourses on sustainable development, reflecting on the respective opportunities and challenges with these discourses.
The course invites you to engage with alternative approaches to sustainability education and learning, and to engage with you in a constructive way in order to reflect on what is a meaningful with each approach. The course deals with sustainable development as content, as well as with sustainability competencies and pedagogic/didactic principles for education and transformative learning for sustainable development. It aims to equip you with skills useful in working with a wide range of learning and collaborative processes: in formal and informal education, in inter-/trans-disciplinary settings, in communities and at workplaces.
