About the course
The course covers cultural heritage regulations, applications and practices both in Sweden and from a global comparative perspective. The approaches traditionally used by antiquarians and museums have come to be seen as increasingly problematic. In urban planning, the interests of heritage, conservation, economics and other societal factors often collide, forcing planners to make difficult trade-offs. The course seeks to problematise a dynamic and problematic cultural heritage situation, taking Sweden as its starting point and making global comparisons.
