Entry Requirements: 30 credits in a language subject.

About the course:

An overview of the languages in the Indo-European family of languages and a discussion on genetic relationship. Introduction to individual languages and language groups in the Indo-European language family and discussion on their characteristics, means of transmission, the oldest surviving sources and relevant cultural conditions. Elementary introduction to the common Indo-European poetic language. Discussion concerning a common cultural heritage and archaeological evidence.
