About the course
The course has an interdisciplinary basis and is based on the interaction between ethnology, gender studies and game design. The course looks at different perspectives of cultural representations and other dimensions of power impact such as gender and ethnicity. Special attention is paid to different ways of portraying these aspects in games and in relation to game functions (game mechanics). The course includes both theoretical and practical elements. You will then transfer your theoretical knowledge into practical formative assignments both in groups and individually, and analyse your work processes and results.
